Friday, January 13....Sounds so scary!!

Ch-Ch-Ch ~ Ha-Ha-Ha
That is supposed to be the Friday the 13th scary sound from the movie.
I hope everyone had a great Friday even if it was the 13th. Although January 13 is personally a tough day for me, I find that Fiday the 13th is actually more good luck than bad like people seem to fear.
Anyway, On with the show!
Today I had a flight booked on Thai Airways from Bangkok to Chiang Mai... Finally getting out of Bangkok!
I was up fairly early, got showered, got packed, and had some time to spare.... So I was off to get some breakfast. From there it was back to the hotel, got a taxi, and was on my way to the airport. I didn't have to sit at the airport too long, and I was on a plane headed to Chiang Mai. Upon my arrival in Chang Mai I grabbed my luggage and headed out in a taxi to my hotel. After getting settled into my hotel room, I decided to walk around and just take a look at things. Plus I needed to find an Internet café to take care of some business. I also decided to go check in at the Elephant Nature Park office, and the Flight of the Gibbon office to make sure everything was in order for my adventures. I was then on my way back to my hotel to get some sleep.... 5 AM comes early!

My stop for breakfast
Pad Thai and a fruit smoothie

Yummy!
That there would be my taxi driver.
This is absolutely the biggest billboard I have ever.....
Seen!!!
There is my ride to Chang Mai.

Hanging out waiting at gate B4.
Chang Mai
Hey – look there's my luggage!
This is an unbelievable piece of furniture that was on display at the airport. I just love it!

Airport
Taxi to the hotel.
The view from my hotel room.

This is my room, and I'm not sure how but I ended up with two smaller beds rather than one big one....It's all good.
Statues out in front of the hotel.
The night bazaar

Me hanging out over by Starbucks.
A fresh fruit smoothie was actually my dinner for the night. Just a little over one dollar.
Walking down the street by the old moat. I will get some daytime shots of this on Sunday.

I noticed at nighttime by the moat that there are a lot of rats! Look close down by the tree.
This is a rather unique bar I seen when I was walking down the street.
Checking in at the Flight of the Gibbon.
A very large wooden elephant carving.
Inside one of the gem and jewelry shops.

All walls inside the shop are covered like this.
I was thinking about getting another massage ~ Maybe sometime in the next few days.
While wandering around kind of lost I spotted the Rasta Café.
So that pretty much covers my day folks.
Sorry so boring.

Now that I am in Chang Mai things will hopefully start getting a little more exciting. I have a zip line adventure planned for the morning, and was also thinking about going and seeing some Tigers while in town. On Monday morning I will be headed out to the Elephant Nature Park for a one week volunteer adventure. There will be a lot of pictures in the next 10 days!
I just hope that I have good Internet so that I can upload them to the blog.

Once again, thanks for following the blog, and thanks for all the comments.
Have a Great Positive Day!

  2. Seeing your photos everyday is like taking a trip to wherever you went.
Next time please take close up photos of each fruit in those clear plastic cups and name the fruits we don't see in Salem.
Also please photo American fast food restaurants in Thailand.
