Thursday, January 5 ~ Hanging out in Pattaya...

Hello everyone!!
It is my first full day in Pattaya on this trip, and it really was a pretty uneventful day.
As always I was up early so I decided that a walk on the beach was in order. I really enjoy the whole walk on the beach thing (sounds like a singles profile), but I also need to be getting some exercise while out on this trip. No matter how many times I tell myself that everything is "Fat Free", "Sugar Free", and has "No Calories" while I am on vacation ~ IT IS ALL A LIE!!! So, I really need to make sure that I am at least walking a few miles everyday.

Pattaya City sign on the hill
You will notice that I have a thing for Volkswagen's.... This thing is in such great original shape, and it is just sitting here going to waste holding a sign along the beach ~ Right hand drive too!! I wonder what it would cost me to ship a few V.W.'s home???
My new Jet Ski ~ 2012 model
One of the Cocktail Buses ~ I meant to get pictures at night so you could see it in its full glory, but you will have to wait for tomorrow's update. These things are the true Transformers!!
This one here is Sweet ~ Kind of a waste of a Vintage Bus, but if it is making you money I guess all is good! I will get some night pictures of this one too for tomorrow's post. They are parked on the sidewalks, and at night they transform into a bar. Too bad you couldn't do this in the States.... Maybe a coffee drive thru??

I just love this one!!
Every morning they are out sweeping the sidewalks, and picking up the trash from the night before.
The Beach Walk ~ Travel..... With Leo!
Looking down the beach... I usually walk all the way down to the buildings and back. I may have to come down for a swim one of these mornings.
Setting up the beach front for the tourist that will be arriving this morning. You can rent a chair, and they serve drinks and food to you right here on the beach.
I spotted these two girls on my walk...  They were putting out a prayer and an offering to Buddha ~ The basket of offerings is floated out into the water. You actually have to be out pretty early to see this. Kind of like the Monk's on their morning walk ~ which I will share with you in the days to come.
LEO just laying out on the beach...
Someone wanted their ears scratched while I waited for my coffee.... But the dog simply refused to scratch my ears, so I scratched his.
Coffee House

Not exactly what I was looking for ~ A bit extreme, but it will work for this morning.

Simply "Meow" ~ That is how you say cat in Thai. This cat had the most beautiful colors and markings!! He taste good too ~ Just kidding!
Have you ever felt all boxed in???
I met up with Justin for some Brunch (late breakfast early lunch) today before he leaves. He ate something  that didn't agree with him yesterday so he really wasn't doing too good today. Traditional Thai food for me as usual... Can you say "PED" ~ It means spicy, and this was on fire ~ Love it!!
Fresh Coconut ~ Oh so good for me!
Uh oh.... Lek has moved ~ This is not good for me! Phone only works good if you speak Thai. I did end up getting a new business card from someone that had a map on the back. I ventured out looking for the new shop and ended up getting in about three or four miles of walking, and still did not find it. There are many Tattoo shops here, but I have had all my work done by Lek, and I will track him down tomorrow!
Wow!! That doesn't look anything like Grandpa's old Peugeot from back in the day ~ This thing was Sweet!!

Spotted this in a window along my walk, and thought it was pretty funny! All Chicks Rock!!
After a long walk it was Oysters, Egg, and Sprouts.... Absolutely love this dish!!
I thought about going out and checking out some of the nightlife around here, but ended up calling it a night. Maybe tomorrow night.... I think I am getting old ~ Ha Ha!
Outdoor market is on Friday's ~ I will be off making some purchases in the morning!
See you here - Same Bat Place ~ Same Bat Channel - Tomorrow!!

  1. As alway, really enjoying the blog and enjoying all the pix. Makes my plans of jetting across the US seem small potatoes. Hope you are having a great time and looking forward to some of the night life photos. We may be getting older, but not dead yet! See ya!!
