Here we go.... Friday, January 6 ~ Nothing special, but it is vacation.

Hello everyone!!!
It is Friday and I am back again as promised.
This day was pretty average as most have been lately... The beach, coffee, some shopping, and just some running around town doing some searching. I did change hotels due to the fact that I wanted to have some space ~ I am now in a room that I have stayed in several times before here at Sanya Apartments, and I really like this room. I highly recommend staying here ~ Excellent people, price, and location!

Morning coffee at the local Starbucks.... This pretty much has a universal price!

The road is pretty quiet in the morning ~ I can actually just simply cross the road. A word to the wise... When you decide to go - GO!! Don't hesitate or choke, or you will end up getting hit!!
Sailboat anchored off of the shore ~ That is living the good life! There is someone way out there para-sailing ~ Look close.
Figures.... Right after I go home.

Is this the Alcoholics Anonymous hotel??
Walking Street is much quieter by day.

Good plan for tomorrow.
At the outdoor market ~ I have always loved these shirts with the bad ass babies on them!

So much stuff, and the market covers like four square blocks.
I stopped by the local temple on my walk back to the hotel.

Outside the temple ~ Center of the bells.

Some of the many bells ~ there are sticks available to ring the bells... It is a part of  the Buddhist religion to ring the bells when entering the temple grounds, and many place prayers upon the bells, and release their worries here.

Some of the bells are ancient, and covered in many designs and writing.

One of several structures at the temple.

Unbelievable artwork!

Inside the main temple.

Outside the main temple

One of the Foo Dogs outside the entrance to the temple.

A bit of information.

One of many Buddhas that are outside.

Another Buddha that is outside.

Also outside before I was leaving the grounds.

Another large Buddha among many.

One of the smaller structures at the temple. The Emerald Buddha is inside of here.

Just need to photo shop out the light-post!

Like the Foo Dogs they are positioned at both sides of the entrance where the Emerald Buddha is.

Another shrine outside the main area.

Close up.

Two Monks walking up the steps of the main temple.

Finally did the smart thing and jumped on the back of a scooter taxi and found the shop.

Spent a couple of hours here hanging out and looking at artwork.
Lek's dog at the Tattoo Shop. I do not recommend wearing jeans around this guy ~ He really wanted to make my leg his Girlfriend, and he is a very strong dog!! He wanted to have his way with my jeans ~ Shorts for tomorrow's visit.

Lek is working on the Buddhist necklaces that he also makes when he is not inflicting pain upon people. Tomorrow I am scheduled for some new amazing work to be done ~ Can you say pain???
As promised ~ Pictures of the Cocktail Car by night. If you didn't see what it looked like by day you will have to read yesterdays blog.

So damn cool!!

I just have to build one!!
The vintage one is just great!!

Roof opens and the side windows fold down into counter space. There is also a  flat screen TV in the back area for people to watch from their tables.

Check out the cool table design using tires!!

Okay, that is it for today folks!
I will be headed to the island in the morning, and getting inked tomorrow night.... There will be plenty of pictures of both experiences ~ So come back and Travel With Leo tomorrow!
It is the weekend ~ Make it a positive one!

  1. I really appreciate you taking and posting the photos!

Could you add temperatures when the photos were taken please.
Also if there were scents & smells, like incense at the temple? All one fragrance or many different fragrances.
Any air pollution in the steets?

What did you smell when you were walking by the food vendors' carts?
